For our young players who demonstrate a real aptitude for squash, we can implement the following pathway to ensure their talent is encouraged, nurtured and allowed to flourish.

1

Grass Roots

Mini Squash courses at schools leading to the creation of School Academies at local squash centres.

Build contacts with local communities e.g. scouts, church groups, youth groups.

Competition – inter-school/community tournaments.

2

Club

Children join the club as junior members and are offered a club pathway (e.g. Mini Squash – bronze – silver – gold training groups), through which to develop, assisted by ESR club coaches.

Club juniors are introduced to internal and external competition.

Competition – Internal club leagues, Surrey Junior Cup, Area Individual Leagues, ESR Copper and Bronze tournaments.

3

County

From the squad, an A team is selected to play in the National Inter Counties Championships. The B team players may also compete in the National Inter Counties Championships or the Six Counties Grand Prix tournament.
